Senior Buyer

About the role

The Senior Buyer will lead the end‑to‑end spot material procurement process, converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders and ensuring timely goods receipt to meet end‑user demand. This role requires strict compliance with financial authority limits and internal purchasing policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and issue complex spot material purchase orders in line with Table of Financial Authority (TOFA) regulations.
• Track purchase orders through to goods receipt, expediting vendors as needed to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Maintain a database of purchase orders, monitor status, and generate regular reports for managers on delivery performance and corrective actions.
• Analyse historical spend and demand data to refine spot buying strategies and improve cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with suppliers, packers, and freight forwarders to ensure sustained material availability.
• Monitor supplier performance and market commodity trends to negotiate optimal pricing and quality.
• Support internal and external audits, peer reviews, and process improvement initiatives related to spot purchases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply‑chain management, commercial discipline or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of direct purchasing/procurement experience in the oil and gas industry.
