Senior Commissioning Engineer – Rotating Equipment

About the role

QatarEnergy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning of rotating equipment on offshore oil & gas projects. The role involves overseeing pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities, ensuring compliance with company regulations and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Commissioning Team Leader for assigned offshore projects.
• Review and comment on EPIC Contractor SOW for pre‑commissioning, commissioning and completion activities.
• Lead outsourced contractors to deliver engineering support in line with QatarEnergy procedures.
• Develop and obtain approval for commissioning strategies, plans, procedures and handover checklists.
• Coordinate with construction teams, end‑users and vendors to resolve performance issues and manage punch‑list activities.
• Ensure availability of required manpower and resources throughout the commissioning phase.

Required profile

• B.Sc or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 12–14 years of experience in construction, installation and commissioning within the oil & gas sector.
• Extensive offshore project experience, particularly with rotating equipment.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a multicultural environment.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution and problem‑solving capabilities.

• ICAPS commissioning software (or similar).
• Commissioning of rotating equipment.
• Offshore construction and installation processes.
