Senior Cost Controller

About the role

The Senior Cost Controller will lead cost management across all catering sites and projects, ensuring financial performance aligns with budgets and client contracts. You will work closely with chefs, site managers and procurement teams to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control food, beverage and operational costs, analysing daily, weekly and monthly reports to identify variances.
• Develop and maintain standardized recipe costing sheets, track food cost percentages, and recommend menu engineering initiatives.
• Supervise inventory control processes, conduct physical stock counts, enforce FIFO and investigate discrepancies.
• Review purchase requisitions, supplier quotations and invoices, and collaborate with Procurement to secure competitive pricing.
• Support new catering projects through budget planning, cost forecasting and labor productivity monitoring.
• Prepare monthly Food Cost, Inventory and Profitability reports and ensure compliance with internal policies and client contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Professional qualification (CMA, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• 5‑8 years of cost‑control experience in large‑scale or industrial catering environments.
• Proven track record managing multiple high‑volume catering sites.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of food cost control and inventory management.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query).
• Analytical and reporting capabilities, including menu and recipe costing.
