Senior Electrical Engineer – BIM

About the role

An established engineering consultancy in Qatar is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong BIM expertise to support high‑profile building and infrastructure projects. The role starts with a two‑month contract, extendable, and is ideal for candidates who can mobilise immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Design LV/MV power distribution systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality and mixed‑use developments.
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, voltage‑drop, short‑circuit analysis, protection coordination and fault‑level studies.
• Produce single‑line diagrams, power and lighting layouts, containment drawings, panel schedules and detailed documentation.
• Design indoor, outdoor and emergency lighting using Dialux or Relux.
• Develop fire alarm, emergency communication, public address, voice evacuation and life‑safety systems to international standards.
• Design ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, structured cabling, BMS, IPTV, nurse‑call and building automation.
• Carry out generator sizing, UPS calculations, power‑factor correction, harmonic analysis and energy‑efficiency studies.
• Create accurate 3D electrical BIM models in Autodesk Revit MEP and manage Revit families.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings, resolve multidisciplinary clashes with Navisworks and follow BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and CDE procedures.
• Collaborate closely with architectural, structural, mechanical and public‑health teams throughout all project phases.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in electrical design for building projects, preferably at senior level.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary environments and deliver high‑quality documentation.
• Immediate availability or ability to mobilise on short notice.
