Senior Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required to support the company's projects and operations, ensuring cost‑effective purchasing, timely delivery, and compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement process from requisition to delivery, including purchase order issuance and post‑order expediting.
• Source, evaluate and procure engineered equipment, long‑lead items and services in line with project specifications and business requirements.
• Prepare RFQs/RFPs, assess technical and commercial bids, and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and contract terms.
• Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, inspections, documentation and delivery schedules to ensure on‑time project execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and OEMs to achieve quality, cost and delivery objectives.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, QA/QC, Logistics, Warehouse and Finance teams to support procurement activities.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive procurement process optimisation.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven track record managing multimillion‑dollar procurement packages for EPC/EPIC projects.
• Experience procuring long‑lead items such as gas turbines, pumps, transformers, fire‑gas systems, steel pipes, valves, control and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of contract administration, supplier management, logistics coordination and supply‑chain processes.
• Professional procurement or supply‑chain certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• SAP and other ERP/procurement systems.
• Mechanical engineering knowledge applied to engineered equipment.
• Procurement lifecycle management including sourcing, tendering and post‑order expediting.
• Contract negotiation and administration.
• Supplier performance monitoring and improvement.
