Senior Project Accounting Accountant (NFP)

About the role

The Senior Project Accounting Accountant provides professional advice on financial, accounting, management accounting and tax matters for QatarEnergy LNG projects. The role ensures accurate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end reporting while supporting complex, non‑routine accounting issues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end activities, addressing complex ad‑hoc issues and ensuring compliance with Project Accounting standards.
• Interface with internal and external clients to gather sensitive financial data, advise on commercial agreements and build financial models for billing, cash calls and budgeting.
• Coordinate with Asset Accounting and Venture Controlling to deliver accurate close‑outs and shareholder reporting.
• Prepare and analyse gross cost/operating reports, resolve discrepancies and support CFO reviews.
• Update project summary reports, reconcile cost trackers, review invoices and service entry sheets for compliance.
• Prepare cash forecasts, manage funding/cash calls and billing statements, and optimise cash balances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or commerce, or any discipline with a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, etc.).
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and finance experience, preferably in project environments.
• Thorough knowledge of QatarEnergy LNG Financial Control Procedures.
• Proficient written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in SAP FI/CO.
• Experience with SAP BPC, BW and Project System modules.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong analytical abilities.
