Senior Project Engineer – Automation & Major Projects

About the role

The Senior Project Engineer supports the Head of Section in leading engineering activities for large‑scale automation projects. The role provides technical guidance, problem‑solving and decision‑making across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with company strategy and contract requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering tasks to meet project objectives and EPCC contract terms.
• Track and report engineering deliverables, flag deviations and drive recovery actions.
• Review technical documentation from contractors, including datasheets, drawings and specifications.
• Participate in kick‑off meetings, fabrication schedule reviews and on‑site inspections.
• Collaborate with QA/QC, construction and commissioning teams to ensure proper installation and system readiness.
• Support training, technical readiness and interface management between internal departments and contractors.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, QRA and 3D model assessments.
• Identify and track engineering risks, ensuring compliance with HSE, environmental and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating large‑scale automation or major‑project engineering activities.
• Familiarity with EPCC contract requirements and multidisciplinary project environments.
• Ability to work closely with QA/QC, construction, commissioning and operations teams.
• Strong analytical skills for risk identification and mitigation.
