Senior Underwriting Officer – Property & Casualty

About the role

Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) is seeking an Underwriting Officer/Senior Officer to service corporate customers across Property, Engineering, Casualty and General Accident lines. The role involves assessing risks, pricing policies and negotiating terms with clients and brokers.

Key responsibilities

• Service existing corporate customers of QIC Group for Property, Engineering, Casualty and General Accident insurance products.
• Underwrite good quality risks within the authority limits specified in the Operations Manual.
• Determine insurance premiums, coverage extent and contract conditions.
• Assess risks and release quotations in line with underwriting guidelines and reinsurance arrangements.
• Negotiate premiums and policy terms with clients and insurance brokers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5‑7 years experience underwriting corporate accounts for Property, Engineering, Casualty and General Accident lines.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Strong underwriting technical and marketing skills.
• Good knowledge of insurance products and services.
• Effective problem‑solving, negotiation and communication abilities.
