Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology – Tertiary Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology to join a tertiary‑care government hospital in Qatar. The physician will deliver evidence‑based obstetric and gynecological care to in‑patients and labour‑and‑delivery patients, working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe maternal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services for in‑patients and labour‑and‑delivery cases.
• Diagnose, treat and manage antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal and gynecological conditions.
• Perform normal and assisted vaginal deliveries and assist in emergency obstetric interventions.
• Participate in daily ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and clinical handovers.
• Respond promptly to obstetric and gynecological emergencies.
• Maintain accurate medical records in the Hospital Information System (HIS) and ensure compliance with clinical guidelines.
• Collaborate with consultants, nursing staff, neonatology, anesthesia and other allied professionals.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement programs, audits and departmental performance targets.

Required profile

• Basic Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Board certification or residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Minimum three years of post‑specialty experience in a government, semi‑government or teaching hospital.
• Strong experience in labour‑and‑delivery and inpatient obstetric care.
• Eligibility for DHP specialist licensure in Qatar and a valid medical licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Hospital Information System (HIS) for accurate record‑keeping.
• Clinical expertise in managing obstetric emergencies and performing assisted deliveries.
