Teaching Assistant – Information Systems

About the role

The Information Systems Teaching Assistant supports high‑quality education and research at the university in Qatar. Working under the direction of the assigned manager, the TA creates an engaging learning environment, assists instructors, and helps students succeed in IS courses.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with instructors to prepare and upload course materials.
• Set up and maintain technology for courses, including software installation, configuration, and server administration.
• Lead recitations, labs, and classroom sessions, and grade student work using provided rubrics.
• Proctor examinations, hold office hours, and moderate online discussions on Canvas.
• Assist in planning educational and outreach events.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Information Systems Area Head.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field (Master's preferred but not required).
• Demonstrated knowledge of application development, databases, web development, and IT project management.
• Prior experience guiding student technical projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Residency in Qatar.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Proficiency in R programming.
