Technical Draftsman – Carpentry & Interior Fit‑out Specialist

About the role

Samples Yard is seeking an experienced Technical Draftsman with deep hands‑on knowledge of carpentry, joinery, cabinetry and interior fit‑out works. You will translate design concepts and site conditions into accurate, fabrication‑ready shop drawings for a variety of custom furniture and interior elements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop, fabrication and installation drawings for wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, TV units, vanities, doors, wall cladding, reception counters, shelving, built‑in furniture and decorative joinery.
• Produce plans, elevations, sections and construction details showing dimensions, material thicknesses, joinery, hardware, fixing methods and structural supports.
• Translate architectural and interior design drawings into practical carpentry solutions and coordinate with site conditions, services and material specifications.
• Conduct site measurements, verify existing conditions and ensure drawings reflect realistic production methods.
• Maintain drawing revisions, cross‑check against BOQs, material schedules and specifications, and flag any discrepancies.
• Support estimation, procurement and supplier coordination with technical information.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Technical Draftsman in carpentry, joinery or interior fit‑out projects.
• Strong understanding of how furniture, cabinets and custom joinery are fabricated, assembled and installed.
• Ability to work closely with workshop teams, consultants and clients to incorporate feedback and site variations.

Required skills

• Technical drafting for carpentry and joinery.
• Knowledge of fabrication drawing standards and detailing.
• Familiarity with material types such as solid wood, MDF, plywood, laminates, stone, glass and metal.
• Experience preparing cutting dimensions, hardware specifications and fixing methods.
