Technical Officer – Civil Maintenance

About the role

The Technical Officer (Civil) is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, leading a team of technicians, ensuring proper hand‑over at shift changes and reporting equipment faults to engineers and STOs.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the team performs assigned maintenance tasks correctly and on time, including planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
• Train technicians on maintenance procedures, asset knowledge and safety requirements.
• Report defects, breakdowns and spare‑part needs to the Fault Reporting Center, engineers or STOs.
• Assist subcontractors and oversee the quality of work performed by both the team and external contractors.
• Maintain compliance with company HSEQ standards, health procedures, and client regulations, including permits and PPE usage.
• Support internal and external audits by producing required documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant maintenance experience in a similar facility.
• Strong knowledge of regulations such as OSHA, MSDS, NFPA and BS.
• Proven team‑building, problem‑solving and dispute‑resolution abilities.
• Effective communication skills to work with personnel at all levels and establish work priorities.
