Turnaround Engineer – Contracts & Costing

About the role

The Turnaround Engineer – Contracts & Costing will manage the full contract life‑cycle for goods and services required during plant turnarounds. Working closely with senior engineers, finance, commercial and supply‑chain teams, you will ensure contracts are cost‑effective, compliant and aligned with QAFCO’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain turnaround contracts, procurement plans and cost databases.
• Coordinate with senior engineers and all trades to ensure seamless execution of turnaround services.
• Analyse scopes of work, select appropriate tendering methods and obtain necessary approvals.
• Monitor contractor performance, evaluate turnaround plans and report statistical trends to senior management.
• Support the preparation of the long‑term Turnaround Future Capex Plan in collaboration with finance and other departments.
• Maintain and update turnaround control procedures, ensuring adherence across the section.

Required profile

• Minimum 60 months (5 years) of relevant experience in contracts, procurement or cost engineering within an industrial setting.
• Proven ability to work with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with finance, commercial and supply‑chain stakeholders.
