Turnaround Execution Engineer – Rotating Machinery

About the role

The Turnaround Execution Engineer for Rotating Machinery will lead the planning and delivery of turnaround activities on critical turbines and compressors at QAFCO’s production plant. The role ensures that all tasks are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget while coordinating closely with maintenance, operations, HSE, logistics and external contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the scope of work and budget estimates for rotating machinery turnaround projects.
• Create detailed schedules, monitor progress, and optimise resources using Primavera and other scheduling tools.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders to align priorities, resolve issues, and implement recovery actions when delays occur.
• Track performance indicators and conduct trend analysis to identify deviations and apply corrective measures.
• Verify readiness of materials, manpower, tools, permits and other prerequisites before execution.
• Support mechanical completion, punch‑list clearance and pre‑start‑up verification.
• Maintain comprehensive turnaround documentation, including worklists, risk registers and close‑out reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of experience in turnaround execution for rotating machinery.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in an industrial production environment.
• Strong understanding of occupational health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
• Experience preparing scope of work, budget estimates and managing contractor interfaces.
