Writing Center Manager

About the role

The Writing Center Manager leads the strategic and daily operations of Georgetown University in Qatar’s Writing Center. Based in Doha, this full‑time position advances Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives and supports academic writing excellence across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all Writing Center activities, providing expert tutoring to students.
• Lead Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) projects in partnership with faculty.
• Design and implement innovative programs that promote reading, critical thinking, and information literacy.
• Contribute to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning through research, assessment, and publication.
• Teach first‑year writing courses, summer workshops, and special writing programs as needed.
• Facilitate faculty development workshops on writing pedagogy and assignment design.

Required profile

• Full‑time, one‑year fixed‑term position with possible renewal.
• Valid Qatar residence permit; local candidates only.
• Experience in academic writing support, tutoring, or writing center management.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty and develop curriculum‑aligned writing initiatives.
• Strong research and assessment background in teaching and learning.
