Arabic & Islamic Studies Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Arabic and Islamic Studies Teacher to join our academic team on a permanent basis. The role involves creating a safe, respectful, and stimulating learning environment that reflects Islamic values and promotes linguistic and moral development for pupils of diverse backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons in Arabic language (Classical and Modern Standard) and Islamic Studies aligned with MoEHE curricula.
• Set challenging goals for all pupils, including native Arabic speakers, ASL learners, high‑ability students, and those with SEND.
• Assess and monitor pupil attainment, progress, and outcomes, providing constructive feedback.
• Adapt teaching methods to address linguistic, cultural, and cognitive factors influencing learning.
• Contribute to curriculum design, scheme of work development, and creation of assessment materials.
• Promote a love of Arabic language and Islamic heritage while addressing misconceptions sensitively.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of MoEHE Arabic Language and Islamic Education curriculum frameworks.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learner groups, including SEND.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful classroom environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Classical and Modern Standard Arabic.
• Understanding of Quranic text, Islamic jurisprudence, and ethics.
• Familiarity with curriculum planning and assessment practices.
