Associate SOC L1 Analyst

About the role

The Associate SOC L1 Analyst monitors security alerts, triages incidents and supports incident response within a Security Operations Center. This entry‑level position is ideal for candidates with a technical background in IT or cybersecurity who want to develop expertise in threat detection and response.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze cybersecurity alerts, events, and potential incidents.
• Tri­age alerts, create or update cases in the case management system, and ensure case information is complete and accurate.
• Notify customers of security incidents, guide mitigation activities, and support incident response following SOC procedures.
• Escalate complex incidents to Senior Analysts for deeper investigation.
• Track and update cases based on new findings and stakeholder feedback.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain positive working relationships.
• Assist Senior Analysts in preparing post‑incident reviews and developing reports, dashboards, and metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve SOC processes, procedures, and services.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• One or more industry‑recognized cybersecurity certifications.
• Strong desire to learn security technologies and work in a shift‑based schedule.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Understanding of TCP/IP network traffic and event‑log analysis.
• Knowledge of operating systems, network architecture and common system design principles.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, exploits and appropriate mitigation techniques.
