Automation Engineer – Industrial Automation

About the role

The Automation Engineer will design, install, commission, operate and maintain automation and control systems for steel production at Qatar Steel. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical and production teams to ensure reliable plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install, commission, operate and maintain industrial automation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS and other automated control systems.
• Monitor and maintain automation equipment used in steel processing operations.
• Diagnose electrical, instrumentation and control‑system faults and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and modify PLC programs, control logic and HMI/SCADA applications.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of automation systems and field instruments.
• Analyze system alarms, process data and equipment performance to improve reliability and productivity.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation.
• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
