Change and Release Practice Manager

About the role

The Change and Release Practice Manager supports the effective operation, coordination, control, and continual improvement of Change Enablement and Release Management across in‑scope services. Working under the guidance of the Practice Manager or Senior Consultant, the role contributes to service stability, business continuity, release quality, auditability, and timely delivery in traditional, cloud, Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer day‑to‑day execution of Change Enablement, Release Management and Deployment Management procedures, templates, workflows and controls.
• Review Requests for Change (RFCs) and release records for completeness, categorisation, justification, risk, impact, dependencies, implementation plans, testing evidence, rollback plans and approvals.
• Coordinate standard, normal, emergency and major changes according to approved change models and escalation paths, flagging incomplete or high‑risk requests.
• Prepare Change Advisory Board (CAB), Emergency CAB, release‑readiness and go/no‑go meeting packs; schedule meetings, record decisions, issue minutes and track actions.
• Maintain the forward schedule of change and integrated release calendar, checking deployment windows, maintenance periods, blackout dates, resource constraints and conflicts.
• Support release planning and coordination across build, packaging, testing, user acceptance, training, pre‑production, production deployment, validation, early‑life support and closure.
• Collect and validate readiness evidence such as approved scope, test results, security clearances, configuration baselines and support readiness.
• Monitor approved changes and releases during implementation, maintain status records, coordinate teams and escalate delays, failures or emerging service risks.

Required profile

• Experience in Change Enablement and Release Management within IT service environments.
• Familiarity with traditional, cloud, Agile, DevOps and CI/CD delivery models.
• Ability to work under the guidance of a Practice Manager or Senior Consultant and collaborate with multiple technical and business teams.
• Strong organisational skills to maintain schedules, calendars and documentation accurately.
