Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Mining

About the role

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for the mining division will lead the development and execution of the commercial strategy, driving sustainable revenue growth, market expansion and diversification of the mineral sales portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Committee and sitting on the Board, the CCO will act as the principal commercial advisor for mining investments and market opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall commercial strategy for all mining commodities, including pricing, sales and contract approaches.
• Lead revenue growth initiatives, identify new markets and customers, and oversee demand forecasting.
• Manage strategic customer relationships, negotiate offtake agreements, supply contracts and commercial partnerships.
• Develop global sales channels and ensure optimal product placement and market diversification.
• Identify acquisition, joint‑venture and strategic‑alliance opportunities, and conduct commercial due diligence for new projects.
• Assess commodity price exposure, design risk‑mitigation measures and ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
• Collaborate closely with operations, finance, logistics and technical services to maximise commercial value of mining assets.

Required profile

• At least 180 months (15 years) of experience in commercial leadership within mining or related sectors.
• Proven experience operating at executive or board level, influencing strategic decisions.
• Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth, market expansion and successful strategic partnerships.
• Strong ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, finance, logistics and technical teams.
