Claims Specialist – Doha, Qatar

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level Claims Specialist to join a leading construction organisation in Doha on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role involves managing a small portfolio of construction claims and protecting the commercial interests of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, analyse and evaluate potential and incoming contractual claims such as extensions of time, disruptions, variations and prolongations.
• Develop robust claims defence strategies and narrative submissions to safeguard project commercial interests.
• Review and interpret complex contract documents and specifications to determine entitlement and liability.
• Collaborate with project controls and quantity surveyors to substantiate quantum and delay‑analysis aspects of claims.
• Support senior management in commercial negotiations, settlement discussions and dispute‑resolution processes with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Prepare clear, concise weekly and monthly claims tracking reports and presentations for executive review.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Law or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial management, quantity surveying or claims management within construction, infrastructure or engineering.
• Strong understanding of standard contract forms, particularly FIDIC.
• Excellent contractual writing ability to produce clear, evidence‑backed narratives.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying contractual risks and opportunities.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Currently based in Doha and able to start immediately.
