Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Inpatient Services

About the role

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Inpatient Services provides pharmaceutical care to hospital in‑patients, optimizing medication use and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and cost‑efficient therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Review medication orders for efficacy, safety and clinical appropriateness; recommend changes to prescribers.
• Verify orders and check preparations by pharmacy technicians before dispensing.
• Provide drug information to prescribers, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Perform medication reconciliation on admission and discharge, therapeutic drug monitoring and drug‑interaction assessments.
• Participate in medication‑use committees, drug use evaluations and protocol management.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Pharmacy from an ACPE‑accredited program; Pharm.D or postgraduate diploma preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a licensed clinical pharmacist in a pediatric or women’s hospital setting.
• Licensed pharmacist in country of origin and ability to obtain a Qatar pharmacy license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pharmacy Information Systems.
• Strong knowledge of medication safety, drug‑drug and drug‑disease monitoring.
• Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
