Commercial Division Manager

About the role

The Commercial Division Manager will lead the division’s strategic direction, aligning it with overall company goals and market dynamics. This senior role oversees product assortment, supplier partnerships, pricing, promotions, and performance across multiple categories in a fast‑paced retail/e‑commerce environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive division strategy, translating priorities into execution plans and leading quarterly planning and performance reviews.
• Own assortment strategy, manage category structure, rationalization cycles and lifecycle management based on customer insights and market trends.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, lead negotiations on pricing, terms, promotions, joint business plans and commercial investments.
• Oversee availability, inventory and demand optimisation, coordinating supply chain to minimise stock‑outs and balance turnover, DOC and service levels.
• Set division‑level pricing and promotional strategies, monitor competitive pricing, and evaluate promotional effectiveness.
• Partner with media buying teams to secure media investments and ensure measurable sales and margin impact.
• Own end‑to‑end division performance, including market intelligence, competitive analysis and full P&L accountability, driving sales, margin, market share and other key metrics.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in category management, commercial strategy or retail/e‑commerce roles.
• Proven track record managing large assortments, multi‑category divisions and full P&L responsibility.
• Strong background in supplier negotiations, pricing strategy and commercial performance management.
• Advanced analytical ability to turn data into strategic decisions.
• Experience working cross‑functionally in high‑growth environments.
• Leadership experience managing senior category teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field; MBA preferred.
