Commis III - Outside Catering

About the role

A full-time, non-management Commis III position in the outside catering department at a W Hotel in Doha, Qatar. The role covers food preparation, cooking and kitchen housekeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food, and wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, then prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test foods to check they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality.
• Set up and break down the workstation and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment, and check appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents and injuries, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.
• Work within physical limits: standing, sitting or walking for long periods, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and performing other reasonable duties asked by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
