Contracts Lead – EPC & FEED Projects

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Contracts Lead to oversee the full contract lifecycle for a major offshore project in Qatar. The role involves developing contract strategies, preparing and negotiating FEED, EPCI and Long Lead Item contracts, and managing post‑award activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop contracting scenarios and support contract strategy workshops.
• Lead preparation of FEED, EPCI and LLI contracts in coordination with Legal and Supply teams.
• Advise on technical bid evaluation plans, procedures and models.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with contractual terms and regulations.
• Manage post‑award activities including correspondence, change orders, claims, insurance and guarantees.
• Provide advice on major change orders, claims and negotiations with EPC contractors and LLI suppliers.
• Review and resolve contractor claims and contractual issues on behalf of the company.
• Oversee transfer of LLI contracts through novation or free issue to the selected EPC contractor.
• Review existing contracts and recommend amendments for future projects.
• Manage contracts from award through completion and close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Law, Project Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of contract management experience, including at least 4 years in the Oil & Gas industry.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory or acting role overseeing contractors or vendors.
• Strong knowledge of project functions such as planning, cost control, estimating, claims, risk and change management.
• Familiarity with international standards and best practices for contract management.
