Cost Control Engineer EPC Project

About the role

We are looking for a Cost Control Engineer to join our EPC project team in Doha. The role will be responsible for monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing accurate cost information and early warnings of potential overruns.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project budget, actual costs, commitments, accruals and forecasts against the approved cost baseline.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports and variance analyses.
• Maintain and update Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) figures.
• Track cost performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics such as CPI, SPI, CV and SV.
• Coordinate with Planning to align cost and progress data.
• Maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and cost coding.
• Monitor purchase orders, sub‑contracts, commitments and invoices.
• Prepare monthly accruals and reconcile costs with Finance.
• Track variations, change orders and assess their cost impact.
• Identify cost trends, risks and potential budget overruns and issue early warnings.
• Support cash‑flow forecasting and management reporting.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Contracts, Commercial, Planning and Finance teams.
• Assist in project close‑out and final cost reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in Cost Control / Project Controls, preferably on EPC projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Plant or Industrial sectors.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication and coordination abilities.
