Cost Control Lead

About the role

The Cost Control Lead will provide expert advice on cost management for a CO2 Sequestration Project in Qatar. This role involves estimating, forecasting, reporting, and risk assessment to ensure financial discipline throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost management guidance, including estimating, forecasting, allocation, and benchmarking.
• Review and analyse cost estimate bases, assumptions, and data submitted by the Project Management Team for accuracy and reasonableness.
• Identify and implement standardised cost and expenditure processes across major projects.
• Prepare and review gate deliverables such as Estimate Basis Memoranda and Estimate Confidence Packages.
• Validate contractor estimates and ensure they align with company practices.
• Develop funding package submissions, including advance commitments and full funding requests.
• Maintain a cost information database and benchmarking data to support estimating activities.
• Participate in governance activities (gate reviews, independent project reviews, audits) as the cost subject‑matter expert.
• Provide functional support and advice on cost management to project teams as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost control, cost estimating, and financial risk assessment within large‑scale projects.
• Strong understanding of cost management procedures, forecasting techniques, and budgeting processes.
• Ability to develop and modify cost‑related procedures to meet specialised business requirements.
• Experience reviewing and validating contractor estimates and preparing funding submissions.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
