Vice President – Economics

About the role

The Vice President – Economics will lead QNB’s economic research, analysis and reporting function. Reporting to senior management, the incumbent will produce regular macro‑economic reports, monitor international market developments and provide strategic insights to support the bank’s decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end production of QNB economic reports, including monthly publications, country insight reports and ad‑hoc analyses.
• Oversee the use of data, statistical packages and research subscriptions required for economic forecasting and budgeting.
• Prepare input for business and budget forecasts, delivering macro‑economic forecasts across multiple countries.
• Coordinate economic sections for internal committees such as the Investment Management Committee, ALCO, GMRC and ratings reports.
• Maintain service level agreements with internal units to improve turnaround times and ensure timely delivery of research products.
• Support investor‑relations activities related to macro‑economics and promote thought‑leadership publications.
• Implement KPIs and best practices for the economics function, driving cost efficiency and productivity.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in economic research, analysis and macro‑economic reporting.
• Proven ability to manage publications and coordinate with senior internal committees.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work within delegated authority and uphold governance standards.
