Cost Controller – Qatar

About the role

The Cost Controller will provide full cost‑control coverage for the Qatar entity, ensuring that management receives accurate and timely visibility over project and operating costs, commitments, work‑in‑progress, accruals, budgets and cost‑to‑complete.

Key responsibilities

• Own cost‑control activities, capturing project and operating costs accurately and on time.
• Track budgets, commitments, actual costs, accruals, purchase orders and subcontractor expenses.
• Perform cost reconciliations across operational systems, procurement, warehouse, AP, payroll and the general ledger.
• Monitor WIP, cost‑to‑complete, unbilled costs and project‑related accruals in coordination with Finance and Operations.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, budget‑versus‑actual analysis and explanations of material variances.
• Review cost allocation methodologies to ensure correct assignment to projects, cost centres and profit centres.
• Support revenue recognition and percentage‑of‑completion assessments under IFRS 15.
• Identify cost leakage, duplicate charges and unapproved spend, recommending corrective actions.
• Assist month‑end close, audit requests and management reporting with complete cost‑control schedules.
• Drive cost visibility and automation using Odoo/ERP, Excel, Power Query, Tableau and dashboards.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of cost control, project accounting and IFRS standards.
• Experience coordinating with finance, procurement and operations teams.
• Ability to produce accurate, audit‑ready documentation and explanations.
• Attention to detail and proactive identification of control weaknesses.
