Deputy Project Director – Airport Projects

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Deputy Project Director to support the delivery of complex airport development and operational projects in Doha, Qatar. Reporting to the Project Director, you will help steer projects from conception through completion, ensuring they meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Director in planning, organizing, and executing airport projects of varying scope and complexity.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to optimise performance and cost control.
• Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, consultants, and internal departments to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor progress against timelines and deliverables, proactively addressing any deviations.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions.
• Prepare and present detailed project reports, status updates, and performance metrics to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of project management experience, including at least 10 years in a senior or deputy director capacity.
• Proven experience managing airport development, cargo expansion, or operational projects.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in budget management, financial forecasting, and cost control.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
