Director, Future Clusters

About the role

We are seeking a visionary and commercially driven Director, Future Clusters to identify, develop, and accelerate high‑potential economic sectors that will support long‑term diversification, investment attraction, innovation and sustainable growth. The successful candidate will lead the creation of future‑focused industry clusters by analysing global market trends, evaluating emerging sectors, engaging investors and strategic partners, and positioning the organization as a leading destination for investment and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and develop future industry clusters aligned with economic diversification objectives.
• Design and execute cluster development strategies, roadmaps and growth initiatives.
• Conduct market intelligence and sector analysis to spot emerging opportunities and global trends.
• Evaluate new industries, technologies and business models with potential for future growth.
• Develop investment propositions for target sectors and engage investors, developers, multinational corporations, startups and research institutions.
• Support attraction of anchor tenants and key industry players to strengthen cluster ecosystems.
• Build strategic partnerships that accelerate sector growth and innovation.
• Monitor global economic, technological and industry trends; conduct competitiveness assessments and benchmarking studies.
• Prepare business cases and recommendations for new cluster development initiatives.
• Engage with government entities, regulators, industry associations, academic institutions and ecosystem partners; represent the organization at conferences and forums.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives, establish KPIs and track economic impact of clusters.
• Promote innovation‑led economic development in areas such as AI, advanced manufacturing, clean technology, digital economy, logistics, smart mobility, biotechnology and future energy solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Public Policy, Finance, International Business or a related field.
• Master's degree (MBA, Economics, Public Policy, Strategy or related discipline) preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in strategy, investment promotion, economic development or related fields.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale development projects and attracting investment.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills.
