Engineer I – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Engineer I provides on‑site maintenance and repair services for guests and hotel facilities, ensuring all equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, and building utilities.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and complete clean‑up of work areas.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work at heights or on ladders.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic controls.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall, and finish work.
• Use of lockout/tagout procedures.
• Computer skills for inputting air‑handler schedules and temperature changes.
