Engineer Technician – Surveying & GIS Support

About the role

The Engineer Technician provides drafting, surveying, and GIS support for the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program at Al Udeid Air Base, Doha, Qatar. The role involves creating technical drawings, updating geospatial databases, and delivering accurate mapping products to meet mission requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Create and print custom maps, save them to government systems, and provide engineering surveys for facility projects.
• Conduct field land surveys using GPS, total stations, and other equipment to collect geospatial data for infrastructure updates.
• Maintain technical drawings, GIS data, and maps using AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
• Update and manage GeoBase, CIP, IDP, and other mission data sets in compliance with Air Force standards.
• Coordinate with subject‑matter experts to verify spatial data accuracy and produce as‑built drawings.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of surveying and drafting experience and 1 year with current AutoCAD and GIS software.
• U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and a valid driver’s license.
• Experience on U.S. Government or military projects, preferably international.

Required skills

• AutoCAD 2025 or newer.
• ESRI ArcGIS Pro (or similar GIS platforms).
• Survey equipment operation – differential leveling, Trimble GPS, RTK, total stations.
• Microsoft Office and Project.
