Environmental Health and Safety Technician

About the role

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician will manage environmental, occupational health and safety programs for a medical facility in Doha. You will coordinate inspections, develop safety initiatives, and act as the primary advisor on health, safety, and compliance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct monthly food service inspections in line with USFDA Food Code and Department of State standards, report findings within three business days.
• Investigate food‑borne illness outbreaks, perform follow‑up inspections, and produce comprehensive final reports.
• Test bottled water and packaged ice for pH, turbidity, coliforms, heavy metals, chlorine, and dissolved solids; document results.
• Implement emergency response plans, fire safety programs, and conduct fire drills and training.
• Develop and deliver public health education programs (nutrition, stress management, CPR, AED use, etc.).
• Support departmental heads with COSHH assessments, occupational hygiene controls, communicable disease management, pest control, and waste management.
• Participate in mass‑casualty drills, on‑call coverage, and quality assurance audits.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience in environmental health, safety, or risk management, preferably in a clinical or military setting.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in biological science, environmental health, public health, or related field.
• US‑based OSHA 30‑hour training and ability to obtain AHA Basic Life Support certification.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NSF, ANSI, AIHA and ASHRAE standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Food safety inspection experience and familiarity with USFDA Food Code.
• Experience with BLS, AED devices, and emergency response procedures.
