FHE Technician – Fuel Systems Maintenance

About the role

The FHE Technician is responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of fuel handling assets at Al Udeid, Qatar, ensuring compliance with USAF publications, the Performance Work Statement, and Amentum ISO 9001 QMS.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve inbound equipment, evaluate condition of fuel assets, and perform visual inspections and functional checks.
• Repair, rebuild, and replace engines, fuel nozzles, valves, hoses, and air lines; conduct hydrostatic tests and calibrate gauges.
• Perform corrosion control, apply preservation materials, and prepare assets for deployment.
• Document time sheets, work orders, and parts requisitions; maintain battery charging rooms and report tool wear.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of hands‑on experience on pumping systems, gasoline and diesel engines.
• Basic English reading, writing and speaking skills; valid driver’s license (home country and ability to obtain host‑nation license).
• Physical ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 lb and work outdoors in noisy environments while wearing required PPE.

Required skills

• Mechanical and electrical maintenance of fuel dispensing equipment.
• Engine, fuel nozzle, and fuel/air valve rebuilding.
• Hydrostatic testing of fuel hoses and calibration of gauges/meters.
• Corrosion control, surface preparation, and application of protective coatings.
