Field Support Specialist (Freelance / Dispatch)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable freelance IT Support Specialist to provide on‑site technical assistance when full‑time engineers are unavailable or when dispatch activities require immediate attention. The role involves supporting desktops, laptops, peripherals, and meeting‑room technologies for a variety of end‑users, including VIPs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site support for desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software according to company standards.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for IT assets.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing break‑fix support.
• Coordinate repairs, replacements, and escalations with OEMs and vendors.
• Manage IT inventory, asset tracking, and documentation.
• Create system images for laptops and desktops.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain printers and network printers.
• Assist with conference‑room AV setup and meeting‑room technology.
• Provide high‑touch VIP/end‑user support and adhere to SLAs.
• Support Office 365 issues, user account problems, and compliance/security software.
• Support both Windows and macOS devices.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and contribute to knowledge‑base articles.
• Participate in after‑hours activities, events, and recurring meetings as needed.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with desktop/laptop troubleshooting and hardware support.
• Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, LAN connectivity).
• Experience with printer and network‑printer configuration.
• Familiarity with Office 365 support and user account management.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience managing inventory and coordinating with vendors.
