General Manager, GreenSM Qatar

About the role

GreenSM is looking for a General Manager to lead its launch and growth in Qatar, owning the full P&L and building an all-electric ride-hailing and mobility business from the ground up. The role reports to the Regional CEO / Head of International Markets, is based in Doha with regular travel to other cities, and requires fluent English.

Key responsibilities

• Define the Qatar market entry and 3-5 year growth strategy, own the annual budget, revenue targets and unit economics, and identify new service lines and expansion cities.
• Oversee daily ride-hailing operations (fleet deployment, dispatch, utilisation, trip quality, cost control) and manage EV procurement, maintenance, depots and charging infrastructure.
• Build driver recruitment, onboarding, training, incentives and welfare programmes, and maintain driver standards and a fair earnings model.
• Lead brand launch, rider acquisition, pricing, promotions and partnerships, and work with product and technology teams to localise the app.
• Secure licences and approvals, ensure compliance with transport, employment, tax, data protection and EV import regulations, and represent the company with government, investors and the community.
• Set safety, security, insurance and incident-response standards, and maintain risk, audit and governance controls.
• Recruit and develop a local leadership team and build a culture of safety, integrity, customer focus and sustainability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or a related field; MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
• 10+ years of progressive experience, including 5+ years in a general management or country-head role with full P&L accountability.
• Proven track record launching or scaling a business in ride-hailing, mobility, logistics, automotive, EV, e-commerce or a similar consumer technology or platform business.
• Strong understanding of the business, regulatory and political environment, with an established network in government and industry.
• Fluent English; comfort with a multicultural, cross-border team.

Required skills

• Leadership, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of EV technology, charging infrastructure and sustainability is a strong plus.
