General Surgery Consultant

About the role

Al Emadi Hospital is looking for a highly qualified and experienced General Surgery Consultant to join its team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in general surgery and is committed to excellence in patient care, education and research.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general surgery procedures, including gastrointestinal, laparoscopic and emergency surgeries
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Take part in on-call rotation to provide emergency surgical care
• Conduct outpatient consultations and follow-up appointments
• Mentor and supervise junior medical staff and trainees
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to research and educational activities

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized institution
• Board certification in General Surgery
• At least 5 years of experience as a General Surgery Consultant
• Valid medical license to practice in Qatar or eligibility to obtain one
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage but not mandatory
