Head, Construction - Brownfield Decommissioning

About the role

This role leads brownfield modifications and decommissioning for the Bul Hanine Redevelopment Project, covering the PS3 complex and wellhead platforms. It ensures effective construction engineering support, fabrication, offshore mobilisation and delivery of pre-shutdown, shutdown and post-shutdown works, in line with the approved Scope of Work, AFC drawings, engineering design requirements and QatarEnergy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the interface between the Assistant Manager Construction, Asset Holder, Contractor and Senior Construction Supervisors.
• Guide Senior Construction Supervisors and the Contractor so that construction follows approved procedures and drawings, the project schedule, quality and HSE requirements.
• Ensure all activities comply with the approved Scope of Work, AFC drawings, engineering design requirements and QatarEnergy safety, environmental and technical standards.

Required profile

• At least 15 years of overall experience supervising brownfield modifications, weight-shedding, decommissioning and offshore hook-up projects, including hands-on work on live production and wellhead platforms.
• Experience as a Company Site Representative is an added advantage.
• Robust experience executing Oil & Gas offshore EPIC projects, reviewing and approving contractor deliverables and managing EPIC contractors safely and on time.
• B.Sc. in Engineering or Construction Management, or a Diploma in Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering, HND/Advanced Diploma L3 (SVQ/NVQ-L3) or equivalent, plus relevant courses in safety, quality control and construction.

Required skills

• Interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules and drawings.
• Identify potential bottlenecks and propose solutions.
• Supervise a multi-national, multi-cultural contractor workforce.
• Good communication, computer literacy and excellent oral and written English.
