Painter and Polisher

About the role

A full-time, non-management Painter and Polisher position in Doha, Qatar, applying paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings and furniture. The role also covers surface preparation, removal of old finishes and coordination with vendors on paint colours.

Key responsibilities

• Apply paint, stain and other finishes to walls, ceilings and furniture using brushes, spray guns or rollers.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning or abrasive blasting.
• Cover surfaces with protective material and post paint signs.
• Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment properly.
• Coordinate with vendors to modify colours of paint, stain or varnish.
• Follow company and safety policies, report hazards and accidents, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and speak clearly and professionally.
• Support the team, meet quality standards and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical demands include reaching overhead and below the knees, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds and standing or walking for long periods.
