Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead all financial activities for S'hail Shipping & Maritime Services, a leading dry bulk carrier owner in Qatar. Based in Doha, this senior position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decisions, and strengthening financial governance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and consolidate financial statements in compliance with international accounting standards.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to monitor financial performance.
• Manage cash flow, internal controls and coordinate with external auditors and banks.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, optimise financial systems and processes.
• Provide analytical insights and financial guidance to senior leadership for long‑term planning.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in finance with hands‑on experience in financial statement preparation.
• Proven corporate finance leadership, preferably in shipping, logistics or capital‑intensive industries.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA or CFA certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
