Head of Project Engineering – Start‑Up Assistance

About the role

Airswift is seeking a Head of Project Engineering to lead the Start‑Up Assistance (SUA) function for a major oil & gas company in Qatar. The role ensures safe, efficient, and timely transition of LNG facilities from construction to stable operations, aligning with company standards and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the SUA program, coordinating engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Drive start‑up readiness, source and mobilise reimbursable start‑up resources, and manage the Operation Readiness Plan deliverables.
• Act as the primary liaison between Operations Expansion, Project Management, and contractors for all start‑up activities.
• Oversee defect and warranty claim processes, performance guarantee testing, and post‑handover punch‑list completion.
• Participate in daily work‑planning meetings, troubleshoot issues, and develop mitigation and contingency plans.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in LNG plant start‑up, commissioning, or similar large‑scale oil & gas projects.
• Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Strong understanding of HSE standards, project milestones, and operational handover procedures.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
