Head of Protocols and Events

About the role

The Head of Protocols and Events will lead the planning, coordination and supervision of all programmes, workshops, meetings, training courses and celebrations organised by the Ministry of Public Health. This senior position ensures that protocol services for VIPs, guests and visitors are delivered flawlessly, in line with national regulations and ministry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise event and protocol programmes, staying up‑to‑date with MOPH regulatory standards.
• Oversee Ministry exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
• Participate in national and social celebrations on behalf of the Ministry.
• Support public information campaigns and accompany senior officials on official visits locally, regionally and abroad.
• Coordinate inter‑departmental work and liaise with external partners during events and receptions.
• Lead the events and protocols team, ensuring compliance with Ministry and state regulations.
• Handle public requests and complaints, directing them to appropriate units and providing responses.
• Gather feedback on health service quality and recommend improvements.
• Facilitate effective communication between the Ministry and its audiences.
• Provide training to the team on event management and public relations skills.
• Ensure adherence to MOPH laws, policies, procedures and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet organisational needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• Relevant experience in event management, protocol services or public‑sector communications.
