Hourly Paid English Teacher in Doha

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join the British Council’s Doha Teaching Centre on an hourly basis. The role involves planning, preparing and delivering high‑quality English language classes and corporate training sessions to adult and young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging English lessons, both face‑to‑face and online, tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Create culturally appropriate teaching materials and resources.
• Maintain a welcoming, professional learning environment and uphold the British Council’s reputation for excellence.
• Perform core administrative tasks to support centre operations and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in continuous professional development and work towards DELTA‑level qualifications if not already held.

Required profile

• Passion for teaching English to adults and young learners.
• Ability to adapt lessons to individual needs and learning styles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work towards DELTA‑level qualifications, supported by management.

Required skills

• English language teaching expertise.
• Experience developing lesson plans and teaching materials.
• Familiarity with classroom management and online teaching platforms.
