HR Specialist – Policy Development & Administration

About the role

The HR Specialist will work under the guidance of the Senior Policy Analyst to formulate HR policies, design supporting processes, and provide essential administrative assistance to the Human Resources Department. This role ensures the smooth operation of HR procedures, maintains accurate employee records, and contributes to various HR initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate existing HR policies and benefit provisions against industry practices and propose improvements.
• Participate in the creation of HR policies, systems, and procedures related to employment, compensation, employee relations, and administration.
• Develop implementation guidelines, manuals, and directives to communicate policy provisions to employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Assist with onboarding activities, including orientation programs, welcome packs, and documentation coordination.
• Support off‑boarding processes such as exit interviews, return of company property, and record updates.
• Handle queries on HR policy provisions, especially those involving legal or regulatory conflicts.
• Design and review HR processes, flowcharts, and forms to facilitate policy implementation.
• Ensure compliance of HR policies with government regulations and internal standards.
• Provide administrative support, maintain accurate employee records, and manage HR documentation in line with data‑privacy requirements.
• Authorize processing of retirements, insurance claims, health benefits, and injury compensation.
• Process retirement/pension payments, final settlements, resignations, and service terminations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
• Post‑graduate degree is a plus.
