Instrument & Control Engineer (Qatar)

About the role

The Instrument & Control Engineer will provide technical engineering support for offshore instrumentation and control systems, ensuring safe operation and maintenance in line with company policies and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Instrument & Control engineering support to offshore operations, including day‑to‑day troubleshooting, Level 2 technical issues, and preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Support engineering Management of Change (eMOC) processes, feasibility studies, and implementation of approved recommendations.
• Participate in equipment strategy development, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Risk Screening, Formal Risk Assessments (FRA) and Bad Actor studies.
• Collaborate with offshore maintenance, workshops, engineering and project teams to close maintenance activities and improve procedures.
• Evaluate materials for procurement, ensuring compliance with quality and technical specifications for routine, non‑routine and shutdown activities.
• Assist in demand planning for contracted activities and define scopes of work for complex Instrument & Control maintenance contracts.
• Monitor obsolescence of instrumentation equipment and spare parts to maintain operational continuity.
• Execute required procedures for Instrument & Control maintenance, supporting quality verification programs and using maintenance management systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in instrumentation and control systems within oil & gas, petrochemical or similar process industries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency with SAP Maintenance and Material Management (SAP MM).
• Experience preparing and reviewing scopes of work for maintenance and external services.
