Instrumentation Engineer – Doha, Qatar

About the role

Saipem is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join its Qatar Fixed Facilities Department. Reporting to the Instrumentation Manager, the engineer will be responsible for the design, checking, layout definition, installation drawings, material specification, validation and testing of process measuring sensors, actuators and safety elements for major energy and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review instrumentation design, layout and installation drawings.
• Prepare technical documentation, material requisitions and cost estimates for instrumentation items.
• Coordinate technical activities with internal specialists and external subcontractors.
• Support the bidding phase by preparing instrumentation quantities, cost and man‑hour estimates.
• Review client technical specifications and ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• Manage subcontracted engineering deliverables and maintain design basis and guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum of 60 months (5 years) of experience in instrumentation engineering within EPC projects.
• Proven ability to work on both insourced and outsourced technical tasks.
• Strong understanding of process instrumentation, safety elements and project execution phases.
