Instrumentation Engineer – Engineering Fixed Facilities

About the role

Saipem is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join its Engineering Fixed Facilities Department in Qatar. Reporting to the Instrumentation Manager, you will be responsible for the design, specification, and validation of instrumentation systems for major energy and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review instrumentation design, layout, installation drawings and material specifications.
• Prepare technical documentation, data sheets, specifications, BOQs and MTOs for sensors, actuators, control and safety valves.
• Coordinate with project team specialists, designers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with QA/QC, HSE and contractual requirements.
• Support the bidding phase by estimating quantities, costs and man‑hours for instrumentation items.
• Validate vendor calculations for valve sizing and measurement devices, and ensure proper 3‑D modeling of instrumentation.
• Participate in P&ID mechanization and provide technical support throughout project execution.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical or related field.
• Experience in instrumentation design and specification for oil & gas, energy or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with QA/QC, HSE standards and contractual documentation.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontracted engineering activities.
