Internal Control Officer / Senior Officer – Policies and Internal Control

About the role

The Internal Control Officer / Senior Officer will lead the design and maintenance of a robust control environment, ensuring fraud prevention, resource protection, and operational efficiency across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update an internal control library and integrate controls into IT applications.
• Design policies and procedures for all departments, aligning with regulatory requirements and business needs.
• Map policies to the internal control register, obtain departmental concurrence, and manage periodic reviews and sign‑offs.
• Identify key risk areas, conduct quantitative and qualitative assessments, and implement controls to mitigate those risks.
• Develop and maintain a real‑time dashboard monitoring critical controls, generating alerts for failures or deviations.
• Produce monthly and quarterly reports on control effectiveness, highlighting concerns and achievements.
• Manage internal, external, and regulatory audit processes, ensuring clean audit outcomes.
• Collaborate with department heads to review and continuously improve control environments.
• Evaluate manual controls for automation opportunities and oversee integration of automated solutions.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, or in IT/Analytics within the insurance domain.
• Risk management experience is preferred.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant or MBA from a Tier‑1 or Tier‑2 business school.
