Intools Technician

About the role

The Intools Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining instrumentation data within the SPI INTools system for a petrochemical facility. The role ensures that all instrument-related deliverables are accurate, up‑to‑date, and compliant with Process Safety Information (PSI) policies and Management of Change (MOC) requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Update and verify instrumentation deliverables (instrument index, specification sheets, wiring drawings, interconnection diagrams, loop drawings, alarm & trip summaries, I/O assignments) in SPI INTools during facility changes.
• Create and maintain new instrumentation records and instrument tags, preventing duplication.
• Administer the SPI INTools database, including data initialization, backup, security, recovery, and periodic upgrades.
• Collaborate with IT and the SPI INTools contractor to support bulk data extraction, reporting functions, user management, training, and software license renewal.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Assist in preparing accurate reports and support Qatarization initiatives for local talent development.

Required profile

• Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering (required); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3‑5 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably petrochemicals.
• Hands‑on experience with SPI INTools.
• Familiarity with Process Safety Information (PSI) documentation and Management of Change procedures.
